Jenifer Sutherland PhD, RP

I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, as well as a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, and a long-time member of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. I have a Ph.D in literary history, have worked as a freelance writer and broadcaster, and taught at the secondary and post secondary levels. I am a mother of an adult daughter and son, and a grandmother.

My psychotherapy diploma is from the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. In November, 2018, I completed training that qualifies me to provide supervision to qualifying psychotherapists. In all my work my approach is integrative; starting from a psychodynamic and relational base, my tools include dream analysis, CBT, ACT, Narrative, IFS, Mindfulness and somatic inquiry. My practice is LGTBQ+ friendly.

I believe in the magic of process. And that meaning is made in relationship with others. Stories are changed the moment we tell them. And if someone listens, we can find new ways to hope.
